Portugal has signed a new multi-year contract to host a round of the World Rally Championship until at least 2028. The country has been a part of the championship since its inception in 1973. The new three-year deal secures the future of the Rally Portugal for 2026, 2027, and 2028. ACP President Carlos Barbosa expressed his excitement for the partnership, highlighting the positive impact on the country’s economy and fans. Rally Portugal continues to be a significant event for the WRC, drawing in over 500,000 spectators. Plans for the 2026 WRC calendar include Croatia’s return and a potential event in the USA, pending approvals.
